What will the Cowboys do

Cowboys don't pick until the second round. they have 11 picks in this draft but there is no way that there is 11 spots on the team. I think they should package up some players and move around maybe start prepping for next year or possible trade up sooner in the second.

I figure they will go O line or D back. Big surprise. I don't like the lions picking Matt Stafford. He is good bout not great. They good have taken a Olineman or Curry and a QB next year with a later pick.
That said nobody can throw it farther to Calvin Johnson.

Twitter Presentation 3.0

I have uploaded my final Twitter Presentation onto Slideshare with some musical accompaniment. I am also going to attempt to publish using a Camtasia Video I created as well but this is proving more of a challenge.

It is basically the same presentation with a few added slides and music. But here it is none the less.

Over due Podcast

I have been messing aroung setting up a Podcast for my emerging technologies course and never really got to publishing it. I think I did it five or six times with some success. At first I wanted to make it perfect and I soon realized after a few edits that nothing would be perfect as I am learning a new technology. I soon realized that the assignment of creating a Podcast had nothing to do with the actual Podcast itself but in fact the journey of creating it.

I had fun working with this tool and it became easier as I went on. Anyway here it is. Short & Sweet.

I am happy that it is over

I started back at my old job a few weeks ago as a trainer for our utility company. I really enjoy the work even though it is quite demanding. I had to deliver a refresher training session to a few experienced customer service reps today and needless to say I was quite nervous. It wasn't that I didn't know the material, it was the fact that they all did. It can be quite challenging training a group of experts in a particular field especially when the course is only a refresher session.

I felt like I was being graded on every word I said... maybe I was. I haven't seen the evaluations yet but I am curious to see what was written. I have two more sessions tomorrow but my confidence is up and I hope I do well.

Wish me luck.

Bloggers make a difference

http://www.cnn.com/2009/TRAVEL/traveltips/03/23/blogging.travel.complaints/index.html?eref=rss_topstories

I guess the squeky wheel does get the grease

I have been busy trying to get a presentation together about Twitter for my emerging technologies course. I think it is ready but I am having some issues with the sound. It seems like most people in the course are having issues as well. no big deal thlough I am sure we will all fumble through it in our own way.

Sweety?

I know I know.

You must be wondering if this blog belongs to a guy or a girl. With a name like Sweety it can be hard to tell the difference. I have had the name for almost 20 years now and like most nicknames (and family) you don't choose them. Nicknames are funny because everybody secretly wants one but nobody will admit it. It would be easy to have a last name of Smith and be called "Smitty" or have red hair and be called "Red." But to get a nickname like ”Sweety" there has to be a story behind it and having a name like "Sweety" takes allot of getting used to.

Kobe Bryant is a basketball player for the Lakers and he gave himself the nickname”Black Mamba" and a funny thing happened...people started calling him that. I think they do it now to make fun of him. So you can't just push these things on your friends. I would have preferred to have the nickname of "Rugedley Handsome" but I thought it was taken and I didn't know how to spell "Ruggidly".

I got the name "Sweety"one night after asking my buddies for weeks why I didn't have a nickname. Maybe a year later my wish came true. On a night over many beers and playing cards with the fellas. One of my buddies started calling me "Sweet Bitch", actually there was a little more to it (there was a F sharp in it but this is a family blog and I don't want to share with you the full name.) Anyway to make a short story long. I was called "Sweet Bitch" for about five years. This name took some time getting used to as you can imagine. The name was eventually shortened to where it is today "Sweety". My buddies and I still get a kick out the look on peoples faces when they hear people call me that or ask me something. "Hey Sweety do you want a beer" or "Hey Sweety I will pick you up at 7". I get called "Sweety" as much as I get called my real name so I am pretty used to it. There are some people who don't even know my real name. I think the only one who doesn't call me "Sweety" is my wife. She just calls me "loser" but I don't think that name will stick because I am pretty sure that "loser" is taken by her ex boyfriend.
